"How can we expect to preserve and protect biodiversity if we don’t even know the names of the plants and animals that share our neighbourhood?”

VOLUNTEERS

The BioBlitz is in action for one month and is almost completely run by volunteers – from the scientists to the many people needed to support them and make this a success.

We are lucky to have had many, many people volunteer their time to
be part of the BioBlitz crew.  There may still be some available spaces, the main times we need help are between 10am and 4pm each weekend when the base camp is open. Inputting data and uploading photos of species seen are an invaluable job.

Volunteer roles include:
  • Science support (preparing collections, lab support)
  • Data entry
  • Management of photo library (and photo competition)
  • Educational guiding
  • Assisting visitors to get the most from their visits

To become a volunteer email us with details of your experience /
skills / areas of interest and the dates and times you are available.

We will let you know if we can include you as part of the team too.
