Build a sand creature entrants start to create their Beach Beastie
 
11am Presentation by Taku Paria about Mana's history and culture
 
12 noon Presentation on NZ Natives and Biodiversity by Alison Ballance
 
1pm Presentation on shallow water fish by Andrew Stewert - Te Papa
 
2pm Presentation on Sea Birds by Sue Waugh - Forest & Bird
 
3pm Announcement of photography and drawing competitions
 
4pm Judging of Beach Beastie competition begins
4.30 pm Winning sand creature announced
1st prize is a trip to Kapitit Island, other prizes from F&B
 
Scientists arrive and set up their microscopes at base camp
in The Old Cable House, Titahi Bay. Species count starts.
 
5.30 - 7pm Guided Rockpool walks

6am Dawn Chorus talk and guided walk
 
6.30 - 7.30am Guided rockpool walks
 
10am Scientists open up base camp in The Old Cable House
 
The BioBlitz database of species found in the Mana region is
constantly updated as more species are identified and confirmed
 
 
4pm The BioBlitz Base Camp closes for the weekend
