"How can we expect to preserve and protect biodiversity if we don’t even know the names of the plants and animals that share our neighbourhood?”

Robert Bateman

Mana BioBlitz 2011
There are heaps of exciting activities happening at our BioBlitz Base Camp in Titahi Bay. From talks and walks to competitions, mingling with the boffins at the weekends and constructing beasties on the beach with the possibility of winning a trip to Kapiti Island. Divers will be bringing photos of the curious creatures they spotted under the waves. During the last BioBlitz on the South Coast a Southern Right Whale dropped by, so you never know what you will see until you look.
You can join in alone, as part of a school group, with your family or your friends - a BioBlitz is for everyone who is interested in the world around them.
Please check the diary page regularly to make sure you are not going to miss the fun!
